    A wee jewelers loupe mate it's a x60 magnification and only costs a couple of quid.

    Mate, you just gotta get REAL close and squint a bit. Then buy a loupe. Unless you want to show off your trichome pics.

    Depends on what YOU mean by "best":

    Cost the least?
    Most magnification?
    Smallest and easy to carry?

    This one is listed on the RQS site and quite inexpensive from online. has a decent magnification range, a focus adjustment wheel, even a LED to illuminate.

    I can't post links but you can get a Nikon d50, used, for about $35.

    You could do this with other brands as well but n not familiar with thier mounting systems and how they have changed over the years. With nikon the F mount has never changed so.

    So you could definitely get a good macro setup for under $100 that allows you to just take a whole bunch of images and review them.
