Default I jus found mold it my buds

Hi, Im roughly a week away from harvesting and went to go feed them and noticed some mold growing inside the bud. The buds are pretty big. They have been in a tent with a small circulating fan. For most of the later flowering I kept the temp at around 79-82 F and the humidity at around 40-60. (mostly 40-50 range) I believe the light may have also been a little to close for the plants, but I could not change the height of the light due to the height of the tent. Disappointing the buds were looking really good. I only saw it on 2 of the main branches. I didn't see it anywhere else.

IM not sure exactly what I did. My guess we be to have better circulating air next time keeping the temp around no higher than 79 and the humidity no higher than 55. At night its hard to keep the humidity down since where i live is high humidity especially at night.

That's shit mate, feel for ya. I had it on my pepsi grow last yr. Had to chop the 4 main colas lol, gutted. My issue was, at a guess, the air wasn't movin around the top of the plant and temps were 25-28c for most the grow. So it's possible you didn't have enough air movement, usually a minimum of 2 osci fans so it moves the air around properly.

As MrC says, it's all about keeping the air moving - & being aware of any spots in the tent that don't get the air movement needed

Sorry to hear about it though, always a gutter when it happens

I have more experience than most wrt mould. Something I had to live with growing in a large cold and damp cellar. If the plant has been stressed in any way, it's more susceptible to mould ime.

Best to be philosophical. As long as the losses to rot are minimal, it's not that big a deal. I would be extra vigilant during late flower and with 600w hps, my average was 500g of good bud plus 15g of mouldy bud. (Can't weigh mouldy bud accurately so it's a guess based on volume.)

Get into the daily routine of tapping each cola with a fingernail. Like checking a glass for cracks. At first, they'll all feel the same. If mould happens again, not that I'm wishing that on you, keep tapping the bad cola and all the other colas as well to learn the difference. There's a feel to it and with practice, you'll just know that a cola isn't right. Then you can dive in and snip out the rot.

LOL I will for sure make sure there will be enough air movement next time. Question though now, Can you go over board with the air movement? The next run I will put a fan in every corner lol so this doesn't happen. But also the humidity jumps pretty high at night and I used to feed them sometimes at night also. I wonder if this had anything to do with that. I have a dehumidifier already... Should I put two? The humidity during the day would stay around 40-50 but at night it would jump up to high 50 sometimes even high 60s. The tent was a 3x2, next tent will be in a 5x5. But if i put in fans and two dehumidifiers will i be going over board with the fans and de hu??

I know mold is dangerous and would probably jus trash it not wanting to consume it. Also after seeing this. How often does mold go undetected by some growers? Not all mold on buds are obvious and a grower can mistaken for crystals or something especially if the mold hasn't full started developing.
