Angry my energy useage since dec 6th 2020 until 29 march 21

ok gas is minimal, but electric is mega.

i bought a plug in energy meter, £15 super accurate after reading reviews.

so my omega digital ballasts are using as follows:

250w setting actual draw at wall is 280.8w

400w setting actual draw at wall is 456w

600w setting actual draw at wall is varies between 597-696w

660w setting actual draw at wall is 6451w-645.8w

So effectively the 660w setting is the most accurate, although i suspect it ain't throwing out the true 660watts.

Come on Loki shed some light on this pardon the sad pun.

Mine costs a tenner a day to run, roughly.
From what I can tell, most LEDS are marketed to be the equivalent to hps costs, but with the extra light gained by way of efficiency.
Realistically, if you can't build a board, you will need to pay for a brand that you trust. I've been looking to replace my ballasts and lamps, HLG seem to be very well reviewed.
I've been looking at trusted brand ballasts and lamps and the cost of buying 2x 1000w ballasts and lamps to match, is roughly half the cost, but unless you use the same lamps for every grow, over a couple of years, the leds are looking to be in front
With the new law regarding companies making goods serviceable and parts being made available to customers, leds will be the way to go.

There are plenty of cheap setups, but we all know that cheap equals shit most of the time.
The setup I want to get is about £1800, that's for 2 led bar panels and from the graphs, it looks to have very good coverage from wall to wall for my 2.4m/1.2m/2.0m tent. Along with dimmable and spectrum options, I'm seriously thinking about switching after this grow, maybe the one after, but I'm definitely leaning towards after this current one.

So i bit the bullet and ordered 2 x maxibright 315 cdm's with omega flower 3000k bulbs, as phillips bulbs have bad rep for blowing, and @ £99 a pop, bollox to that, anyway the light reflectors are 300mm x 300mm and light up 1.2m x 1.2m perfecto.

£180 quid apiece, and use 329 watts each, plus i've read up on the cdm's and terps and resin production is far superior than using 600w hps.

I bought 2x240w QB's 3500k on alibaba for $400cnd express shipped,my energy bill combined was still $400+/monthly but I've had the heating running since the end of October and it hits -40 or colder here, most of my bill is distribution, delivery, administration, rate riders, municipality fee, carbon tax which just f'ng doubled, and GST on top of all that for about $60 combined gas/energy usage per month.
I'm actually looking forward to moving back to the UK,cheaper car insurance, cell phone, internet, energy bills, but way lower wages.

Even more free back in the UK bud, especially for under 18's and over 65's,in Canada they get ripped off big time it's a shame that the country with the world's 3rd largest oil reserves is so corrupt that only the politicians and their friends benefit, eastern canada buy their oil from the saudi's which makes f-all sense at all when we have the shit oozing out of the ground and let women drive and don't stone gay people!
No council tax/property tax for pensioners in the UK,in Canada they pay until they are dumped into care homes.
Canada has it's good points, great wages if your in the trades, hunting, and fuel was cheap today it hit $1.25/ltr,last year it dropped to $0.44/ltr.

In the UK I had sky TV,internet, and phone for 35 pounds/month,in canada the equivalent is about $145/month,my car insurance full coverage in UK was 33 pounds/month,first car in Canada $280/month(I now pay $180/month for full coverage on my car and basic coverage on my truck and expedition),cell phone in UK was about 35 quid/month unlimited data,in Canada with 4gb data its $65+,but again as a tradesman in canada I do make good money in a union job with pension plan, rrsp plan, and union health benefits, every tax season I get almost $12,000 back,in the UK I got nothing ok I got 27 pounds once in my life lol.

I miss the food, the sea,the banter, and my family and friends in the UK my dad is 74,and my brother has one of my dads kidney's so those two are walking timebombs pretty much and I'd rather be back for those later days.
