Yea ebb and flow can get very advanced for sure, ive seen some crazy setups. Im hoping this little simple setup will be enough since its just one autoflower i plan on keeping small.

Im concerned about the density and weight of the aquarium gravel too. im going to thin it out with some bigger gravel, Thanks for the tip.

Ok just to update I got marbles for the substrate now except the top 2 inches which is still gravel to make it easier to plant the germinated seed.

Update. Seems to be working great so far. I changed the flood cycle to 30 mins on, 30 mins off, 24/7 since it seemed like the marbles were getting too dry sitting for an hour.

    PPm are sitting at 200.

Im struggling with the ph wanting to go up to around 7. Im lowering it to 5.8, 2 times a day with powdered vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and I ordered some GH ph down.

White widow auto from seedsman, light is 20 on 4 off, nutrients are dry salts i mixed myself.

Got a 250W led coming now that she is about to flower, still gonna use cfls to suppliment light.

ppm is 400, gonna raise to 550 when new light arrives.

The first 2 branches are whorled phyllotaxy, i added some photos of it.

Its been such a great experience, this plant is doing way better than the one i have in soil.(and the soil plant is getting 12 hours of sun!) Im sold on ebb and flow, im going to invest in a proper setup and ditch soil for good.

Most productive system I ever tried. You get to change the nutrients around the roots often, and give them lots of total air exchanges. That gravel is quite inert, so no worries about anything but the tank.

Plants drink half as much 'lights off' so 4 hours is just like your daytime 2 hours between feeds. On occasion I have seen them drink much less than half the amount. Never more.

Agreed. Ebb and flow also seems to be able to handle much higher res and air temps than dwc. Root rot is something I dont think I will ever have to worry about with this system but I see it happen so often with dwc.
