Once you get to grips with EC you'll find it very simple. Often, once in flower, I just follow previous amounts of A&B (so long as everything is as it should be) But EC gives great control on your plants & makes a successful grow so much easier for people

Calmag is just the latest snake oil... sometimes it is needed, but not often. So long as you use buffered coco (such as the canna stuff) and your EC isn't stupid low in your tap water then there often is no need (I say often as sometimes LED & coco can increase the need... someone with LED should be able to flesh that out a little more)

My friend until you buy a ec meter you are playing Russian roulette. Blue lab wand are the shit they last forever and have a decent warranty. And you can give your feed a good stir with it.

Ec should be 1.6 to 2.0 in veg.

1.6 to 2.8 in flower depending on what stage size they are at. Measure your feed before you add additives. Additives with burn your plants but to much a and b will.

Cal mag is snake oil till yours plants a deficient. Just saying.

Don’t copy your ec from previous jobs. Depending on where you are in the uk water out the tap can vary wildly your previous job should be a general guide. Always use your ec reader.

Don’t need it every feed but good to have on deck as when it goes bad it goes bad quick with coco not a lot of room for error. Maybe every 3rd/4th feed but if you use coco specific food helps a lot.

Why should EC be 1.6 to 2.0 in veg? And 1.6 to 2.8 in flower? I grow in coco and I’ve never hit these figures

    That would kill my plants!

My tap water is 0.5 & I have never went higher than 1.2 (in total) - and that was only once!
