Default Drying - whole plant, or just stems?

So I just want peeps opinions on harvesting.

Chop plant at stem and hang as it is.

Or snip branches off the stem and hang them.

    Then wet or dry trim?

    thanks

I always wet trim & chop the branches to do so...

... but there are many differing trains of thought on this

I tend to chop stem and hang whole, then dry trim.

It allows for a longer drying period in my environment.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

I used to hang indervidual stems but my drying time was far too quick.
Now I chop the whole plant and hang. I remove all the really big fan leaves but leave everything else.
I try to aim for 16° @ 60% rh for around 14 days
Then I trim and cure in glass jars.

But as said already theres so many ways of drying this is just the way its working for me.
Each person's situation will vary slightly due to your environment.

Hope it helps somehow and good luck

Great answers guys. I think the consensus is to do what works for you, and your environment.

Don't think i can't quite get temps down to 16c. but i can get v close. so I'm thinking to hang whole plants to allow for a longer drying time. might just snip off a few of the bigger leafs.

Its my 1st grow, they are looking great, just don't want to mess it up now...

I have to hang branches and trim later as it's so dry here,I prefer to trim when wet though much easier.

haha, well like i said, its my 1st grow so id be happy with anything and the learning experience. But would be even happier with some nice stinky, sticky bud.

Heres a couple pic from this week - they will be sideways though...

Got my seeds from Barneys farm. on the left is Glue Gelato, and on the right with the big donkey dick buds is the Blue Cheese.
Funny story- I was sure they were both Glue Gelato, and that one of them was just a bit fucked up, as they started to look pretty different into flower. even made a couple posts to see if i had a defence with one of them lol. them a couple weeks ago I got the unmistakable whiff of stinky Blue Cheese on my hands after moving the plants.
I had 1 Blue Cheese seed at the beginning, but I couldn't get it to germ, so threw it away and carried on with the Glue Gelato seeds i had. well thats what i thought lol. I must have mixed them up when germing, and was growing a cheese all along.
I was delighted when i realised.

The Glue Gelato has lots of big dense buds, little hints of purple. V sticky.

The Cheese has big donkey dicks covered in greasy, smelly buds.

opinions welcome. but I'm happy enough so far

    its my 1st grow

They're looking healthy enough. Well done.

    Wet or dry trim?

Depends on the drying conditions. In my damp cellar, even wet trimming could take a little over 2 weeks. Wet trimmed in my cupboard with a LOT of extraction had them too dry in 3 days. Wet trimmed in the same cupboard with minimal extraction was just over a week.

Some have the bud in brown paper bags to slow down the drying process.

btw, stock up on kilner/mason jars.
