This is how I make medicated truffles. My aunt loves them because they have almost no weed taste, its her birthday tomorrow so I'm making her a batch, thought I would share the process.
Ingredients
8oz melting chocolate
3/4 cup Heavy cream (6oz) - 1/2 (4oz) cup if using milk chocolate as I am
Coconut oil or butter Canna butter if you have it
Concentrate/dabs/hash oil whatever you call it I usually use two grams but I'm finishing off the last of the Ms. Fields Cookies looks closer to three grams
Preheat your oven to between 175°f and 210°f (80°c 98°c) My oven stayed around 200°f the whole time
Add you concentrate to a metal mixing bowl or Pyrex mixing bowl something oven safe, I like using metal you will see why further down.
Add the concentrate to the oven and leave it in there at least 20 minutes, I left these in there for closer to 35 minutes.
Sorry my oven is messy
After your concentrate finishes its sit in the oven (stinking up the house the whole time) pull it out and add either 1tbls of coconut oil or 1tbls of butter to your concentrate
I then put the pan back in the oven while I get a large sauce pan filled with water and on the stove to boil to make a bain marie.
Put the concentrate that's in the bowl on top of the boiling water and use a fork or small whisk to mix the concentrate in with the butter (or coconut oil)
in a separate small sauce pan heat up the cream, you don't want it to burn so heat it slowly, and and try not to let it boil.
Once the cream is ready add your chocolate to the pan with your concentrate mixture. I like to put the heat on low for the bain marie at this point.
Then add the hot cream to the chocolate. Important do not stir for 5 mins
Mix very thoroughly
Now you need to stir it as it cools, and thickens a good bit. I float the bowl in a cold water bath while I stir it to speed up the cooling process. If you just let it sit without stiring it as it cools there is a good chance your concentrate could separate from the chocolate with the butter. (or Coconut oil)
Once it has thickened a good bit put plastic wrap on it directly to the chocolate so it doesn't develop a skin as it cools, and put it in the fridge for two hours.
While it cools go ahead and get a baking sheet out and line it with either tinfoil or parchment paper.
After the truffle mixture has set use a small melon baller to scoop out your truffles on to your lined baking sheet
Don't worry about trying to make them too pretty at this point, they are easier to shape later.
put them in the freezer for about 15 mins then toy can finish them however you want, coat them in a chocolate shell, roll them in sprinkles, or any thing you want really be creative!
Once they are good and cold you can pull them out the freezer and shape them without making too much of a mess,
I decided to roll my aunts truffles in coco powder
I hope you all enjoyed the read, the truffles are silky smooth and taste amazing.
