Default Question on drying in cardboard box

    Hey there,

Tonight I chopped Bianca, she was great to work with and she thought me a lot about her likes & dislikes. Which is great bc I still have 10 more seeds of her.

I decided to try drying in a cardboard box. My previous two dries were in the tent, no lights, light fan for air movement. However, after 3 days, with both grows, they dried way to fast. Temps were 70F & RH was 50%.

The crawlspace is cool and has a higher RH than the attic. So, anyway, that's the feedback.

Should I cut a hole in the box at the top and have a hole at bottom to suck in air for circulation.

Take a pencil and poke 9 or 10 holes at the bottom of one end and 9 or 10 holes at the top on the opposite end.

If you decide to tent dry again don't bother with a fan inside the tent just run your extractor on the lowest possible setting to maintain negative pressure this pulls more than enough air thru and keeps smell in.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

Using the cupboard they grew in, mine got crispy dry in 3 days. To dry the next lot, I had the extractor fan off until odour was noticeable in the hall, 5 hours or so. Then I ran the extractor fan for 5 minutes.

Thanks Mac, as of today, I am on day 8 of drying in the box. I checked on it yesterday at day 7 and was very surprised on how slow the dry is going. I was then of course thinking (over thinking - of course), that I must have a fan to pull air through the box, and remembered i had a spare PC fan. So I now have a PC fan powered by a USB plug, its weaker than if were powered by 12v. but that little fan, pulling air from the opposite end hole in the back (6" hole in top left and 6" hole on the opposite side bottom right) makles me sleep bettter at night. When I checked on it today, the drying process looked good, no mold issues that I could see. I picked up a second box today as I had another plant to chop yesterday - Alien Rock Candy. She was really frosty, but small. The box is the rela deal for slow dry!
