Default Anyone else using BESTVA DC Series 3000W LED Grow Light?

    Hi,

Is anyone else out there using the BESTVA DC Series 3000W LED grow light?

I just switched from a HPS to this light and was wondering......

    (1) Are you using just the vegetative switch/lights until the plants flower and then switching to the flowering switch? Or, do you use both switches (veg and flower) while they’re growing?

    (2) How far from the plants do you keep the lights? I read recommendation for 48” for sprouts, but that was too distant and they were growing spindly trying to reach the light, so I lowered it.

Thr plants are a couple weeks old now, but they seem so small. Growing in cloth pots with FoxFarm Happy Frog soil, no nutes.

I don’t have a tent, just the light hanging over a couple plants.

    Thanks!

Actual draw at the wall is around 615w

36"-48" for seedlings sounds about right and adjust as you see stretch.

No idea on the switches, sorry. Should say in your manual what each one adds to the mix.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

I'm running two Bestva 2000 watt lights in a 6.5X6.5 tent, it's almost too much light, but it works pretty well. Since my tent is pretty tall (7ft), I don't worry too much about stretch, that said, I use the veg but not the flower switch during veg, I use both during flower, That is for Photo's, for Auto's I use both veg and flower the entire grow. I'm quite happy with the Bestva lights. My lights are about 24-30 inches from the plants, slightly more it used to be my go to soil , but takes a little more fertilizer than the FF Ocean Forest. I got a deal on FF Ocean Forest, $20 for a 3 Cubic foot bag (twice the size of the normal bag), so that's what I'm using now, less fertilizer (particularly for the first 45-60 days), and good yields.

Thanks so much for the reply. I’m having issues with the plants and since the light is new and new to me, I was wondering if it was the problem. So, it’s good to hear that you have the same brand and like it.

I don’t know what the problem is. I planted two auto seeds, a Creme de la Chem and a Gorilla Glue. They flowered after only about 2 weeks and are TINY! They only measure 8” now at about 3- 1/2 weeks.

So, I didn’t know if it was the light, the soil, the seeds.... I planted in Happy Frog soil in 5-gallon fabric pots. I used to use Ocean Forest, but switched to their Happy Frog this time. Maybe I had the lights too far away at the beginning? They were probably 48” away from the seedlings. After reading your post, I moved the light much closer, about 24”.

I also used only the Veg portion of the light in the beginning. Now, per what you’re doing, I have both veg and flower lights going.

I don’t know what to do at this point, because I have no idea why they are so small. It’s very depressing because I have two chronic pain conditions and I use marijuana to cope with the pain (and it helps so much). I have a medical marijuana card, but the stuff at the dispensary is limited, not that good and very expensive.

I count on this stuff to feel well/better. And, obviously, from these two plants there isn’t going to be much of a yield at all. I just don’t know if I should let them go or rip them out and start over. I hate to wait another two months and end up with practically nothing.

I have grown plants before that were small, but never this small. No plant has every flowered that quickly.
