Default 'Max Grow' + 'Max Bloom'- The Plant Growth Company. Anyone tried these?

I was on ebay looking for GH MaxiBloom, a dry powder nutrient said to be similar to the lucas formula. One of the listings was for 'Max Bloom' and claimed it was the same as MaxiBloom. The packaging was not subtle in advertising the company website. I went there and it's cheap enough. £14.50 for a 950g packet. Buy 5 and that drops to £10 each.

I bought one pack of Max Bloom to try out as it's significantly cheaper than using GH Micro and Bloom for the lucas formula. If it works well enough that is.

Here's the numbers for the 2 products:

I've heard a lot about dry powder nutes... it makes sense too

I'll weigh out 7g of it later and mix up a US gallon to see what colour the pH test drops give.

Seems decent with the NPK ratio et al

Keep it bone dry or you may have to do the unthinkable and buy an EC meter

Dry powders take on moisture over time and throw the weights off so grams per gallon aren't a very accurate measure. Found this out 1st hand with my Megacrop powders

Couple of silica gel packs taped to the inside of the lid will help keep it in peak condition.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

Buy an ec meter? That's a scary thought.

7g per US gallon is 37g per 20 litres. 950g pack, that's 25 mixes. Enough nutes for 500 litres of feed can fit through my letter box.

When I open the packet, I'll repack into ziplock bags, 37g each. Then, if a bit of moisture is picked up, it won't matter.

The zip lock bags arrived today so it's all been repackaged. 2 level tablespoons is 39 or 40 grams which is close enough for 20L of feed.

Once it's weighed out, it's easier to mix than GH Micro and Bloom. I poured the powder into a Pyrex jug, added 2 cups of warm water and stirred. It dissolved quickly. A mere trace of residue when pouring the solution into the fermenter.

Mac, thanks for the heads up on dry chemicals and moisture. That could have created a baffling problem for me.
