However you 'coped' moving from a hps to cmh will help you move to led. Its just light and watts really. The world and his wife have already moved on

The thing with HLG, they are so so good that you cannot not make a win out of it. So much more light for less. I would look at those on here actually using and see what theyve done. I dont think Ive heard anyone say didnt work in a major positive way.

Then again not all led are equal so going from a good cmh to a mediocre led brand you might just say meh whats the difference.

Only difference is the heat sink. Same width but the XL is almost a foot longer, more for rectangle footprints than square areas

Moving to led to save money on leccy can be a misconception as you will need to run a heater to get the temps in the high 20s for led growing. I found moving from hps to led my leccy bill never really changed

Its true an extent mate but mainly happens when people hang leds in a hps set up without any mods. Only need temp if pushing PPFD but then you are well into diminished returns - so no one would argue that to be efficient anyway.

300w is roughly where you have enough BTUs (over a thousand) to keep warm. Never bad to supplement with a heater that kicks in a few minutes here and there, not like they run constant.

I see many with too much led in too small a tent or space so really never going to make savings. At other end you got Easy running 135w HLGs with no heat issues and MrC and Krofam running HLG 100s.

Farmer as a grower seems to run lean feeds and lean watts (psf) already so imho he'd top out on a gram per watt basis.

Even if its a Summer and Winter thing, you will still make significant savings and then also the "cooler" CMH becomes redundant in Winter, only the heater hps bulb is good then.

My leccy bil dropped by almost 50% with the led and that's from a 4foot, 8 bulb T5. I was shocked.
The buds are the hardest, densest I have ever grown and that includes when I grew with hps.

    ???

I've been giving them ec 1.8 from start to finish for well over 10 years.

With lighting you may have a point. 37.5w hps psf for years and then 35w of cmh psf. Lately it has been been 45w cmh psf.

When I started, it was a minimum of 50w psf and hps was extra bloody hot back then.

I've been looking at the HLG 100 currently being put through its paces here:

Two of those might fit the bill.

Only ever needed a heater during lights out when its -40 outside, never when my lights are actually running.
