If you not filtering or using RO and your meter is reading 0 then your meter may still be faulty

RO water is reverse osmosis water. It is a filter system which takes everything out of your water.
I have never heard of tap water having an ec of 0.0. Maybe there is but someone else will have
to chime in on this. I agree with Cont3 that there is probably something wrong with your meter.

What kind of ec readings are people getting from their water?
If my meter is reading zero then reads 0.1 when I add some nutes then it must be operating ok.

It's absolutely possible, (relatively rare)...but possible, one of our moderators (Easy) has an EC of 0.0 straight out of his tap.

If I were you, I'd purchase some calibration fluid and make sure the pen is working as it should..that way at least you'll be able to rule out a faulty EC pen

Sprinkle a pinch of salt in the water, If you get a reading you will know the meter is working...Whether or not your meter is accurate though is a different matter, you will need calibration fluid to determine that...

Yeah I have some with the pen and did it after the battery change, I will redo it again later just to double check.
    Thanks.
