Default Growing crosses with fewer phenotypes in a pack.

I’ve noticed a lot of breeders state which strain was the mother and which was the father on their packs.

In the past people have advised me to look at crosses with a “x” mum, when looking at breeders different strains.

What is the reason for this?

Is a stable female strain bred with a dosidos cross male, likely to produce more stable (in terms of pheno, not hermie) seeds, than a stable strain male crossed with a dosidos cross female?

Us and animals are much easier to understand from a genetic and breeding point of view.

    Thanks

fwir, many breeders have a favourite male and use that for most of their breeding projects.

Stability comes at a price. F1 seeds will have about 1 in 4 females good enough to be a keeper. The best female from an F2 version of the same strain probably won't be as good as the F1 keeper. However, the other F2 females are likely to be better than the non keepers from the F1s.
