    Default Are autopots worth it?

I’m currently doing a dwc grow and not loving it but doing it for the yield really!
Is it possible to get 4 oz a plant on autopots using coco?
From what I see you fill up a tank throw an air stone in there and keep an eye on the ph and ec?
Is it lower maintenance than DWC ?
    I’m using a 1.2 square tent 250 mh and 400 hps red.
    Thanks.

You'll need to top water until the roots hit the bottom... that's about as much as I know (I only know that cos I asked once about it )

It is entirely possible to get more than 5oz/plant in autopots using coco, but again you have to factor in lights, nutrients, environment etc.. as well.
I used autopots with the 15ltr pots about 11 years ago and liked them,it is just as easy to grow in fabric pots to be honest,I check my plants everyday so I don't mind top feeding everyday, autopots are great if you only check in on them every 2-3days,easy to setup etc.. I can't say anything bad about them to be honest as I never had any issues with them.

I've been using auto pots for a couple of years
Simple set up low maintenance and yield well light and environment dependant
You may want to upgrade your light to 600w

    Hey Silky,

I am using the Autopots XXL this grow, my previous grows have been in a modified Wilma recirculating using drippers in coco. I have only been using the autopots a couple of weeks, but I am pretty impressed so far, the plants are a great colour and nice and bushy.

Depending on how many plants you grow, the autopots are economical when it comes to nutrients, the last 47l reservoir change I did lasted roughly 3 weeks, with no run off to deal with.

I am also using a different type of nutrient this grow, called Mega Crop, and tbh I havent had to use my Ph down at all this grow, as it generally sits at Ph 6.0 and doesnt hardly shift.

From what I have read about Mega Crop you cant really over feed using it either, so although I am checking the EC I am using that more as guide than gospel.

I can give you a more informative appraisal towards the end of the grow, but tbh if you are looking at a hands off approach to growing, the auto pots and Mega Crop are the way to go!

I use them, no complaints whatsoever.

They’re simple & just work, fill the res, check & adjust PH & rock on. No run off, no waste. No hassle. Water's each plant individually so no messing about with pumps or timers as it’s gravity fed.

Compared to a top water coco system means you’ll use around 30% less water & nutrients with no run off so it’ll pay for itself eventually.

The link in signature is to my current thread & another in the first post, to my previous thread (pretty sure that’s when I started using them).

    Peace,

    Peace,
I've been waiting for a related post to this subject matter.

I have zero experience with any reservoir system, but was always concerned with the water remaining stagnant. I'm guessing an aerator would takes care of any potential problems with a large capacity reservoir? or...
the water is cycled so quickly so as not to allow additional chemical or biological changes over time?

I used a small air pump with an airstone just to keep it aerated.
I'm actually seriously considering buying myself a 6 pot system and going back to autopots again.

I treated myself to a 4 pot system as it had a good price, using it just now for my current grow without an airstone this time.
