Soil or hydro or coco: soil

    Strain: fast buds gelato

    Photo or Auto: Auto

    plant age: week 7

    pot size: 11 litres

    has it been repotted? No

soil type: canna terra pro plus

nutes or additives used and how often for soil: vita link nutrients

Air temps (max min): 26 -29

    Res temps (max min): 19

    humidity: 70% rh

lighting type and wattage (hps, led, cfl): Vivid led’s HLG-600H Quantum Board LED Kit V2 4000k, 648+ Boards 640W

    Light schedule: 20 / 4

    ph level: 6.8

    Background EC. 0.0

    EC 1.4

This seems to be exactly the same as what happened my last grow all looks well till around week 5 - 6 I had this start effecting my 2nd last grow but wasn’t as bad ( still got decent enough smoke) the last one it completely ruined that. I’ve bought all sorts of tanlin drops for fungal gnats, diatomaceous earth bug clear ultra and as I was advised on my previous thread ph and ec pens both bluelab with calibration fluid etc so I really am trying everything but there’s something I’m missing as these symthoms i am getting are consistent. Last grow I let go the hole way and looked ok except for the terribly burnt leaves but the bud was absolutely crap and was like smoking hay ended up throwing the whole lot out all help greatly appreciate as I’m losing it hear

Are you adding calmag to your background Ec mate to bring it up to around 0.4 before adding any other nutes?

Yea mate, looks like they need a little calcium. Especially under that light too, should be okay adding it now, looking at them you’d probably just about get away with a foliar feed just once before your too far into flower

Would be nice if you could bring that Rh down 70% in flower is a recipe for trouble it's creating a haven for those bugs now you got a good tight folage and it's going to be party time once they clock those smelly pungent buds up above I'd recon around 30% and plenty of airflow
Also i hope you don't mind me in saying now you know your using a natural soil and not Coco I'd choose one or the other ,if you going with soil ditch the calibration and keep it simple just find out info on your water supply hard or soft and buy feed accordingly or go Coco and use that kit you've bought and follow some of the diaries here mate
My opinion not worth much matey but if your struggling take it back to nature and fill a few jars
    Atb pudding

I’ll do a test on some tap water and work out how many ml of cal mag per litre to get the ec to 0.4 and then add the required amount too my tank, does that make sense Lowrollerbean??

Thanks for the advice Greengrass I was going to drop the rh to 50% and then 30% when buds get bigger but I’ll drop it to 30% straight away if you think it’s the way to go. I’m staying with soil I don’t need anymore headache and coco seems to be more scientific and that’s not me all this ec and ph jaz has my head scrambled! My tap water reads the following ec 0.0 and ph 7.5 that’s straight out of the tap I find the ph changes once the water stands for a while so I’ll check it again later on.

I water from the top for the first 4 weeks and I generally let the soil dry before I water as I’m aware I don’t want to over water now there on the auto pots

I recently did a test grow with coco using a coco adaptation of the lucas formula. No meters used. Was some calmag issues with the seed plant but none with the clone I was gifted. Not a perfect grow but the result was good enough to tell me that I can stay dealer free using coco without meters. The same is true using a 50/50 perlite/vermiculite mix.

As my preferred medium, Fytocell, is available again, I'll be staying with that while I can get it. I'm currently testing a copy of GH MaxiBloom called Max Bloom. Dry powder, cheap and very convenient. As usual for me, no meters used. The plants say that the pH is a bit out though. I'll be buying a cheapo pH meter and once it's calibrated, work out how much pH down to add to 20 litres of mix. That done, I won't be using the meter again.

Science can be as easy or as complicated as you choose.
