I'm currently testing some dry powder nutes. I like it, the 2 test plants, not so much. One complained more than the other. More than likely a pH issue.
It's cheap and convenient enough for me to consider adjusting the pH when making a new mix. I've ordered a cheapo pH meter and some pH down. What I'm not looking forward to is fiddling about with a miniscule volume like 0.3ml every time. Preferable would be 1, 2 or 3 full millilitres per 20L mix and dilute the pH down enough to achieve that.
I know the adage:
Acid to Water, Like you Ought 'er
Is there a reason it's shipped as 81% phosphoric acid? It could be simple economics. Maybe there's a chemical plant that has 81% phosphoric acid as a by product of another process? Or does it's buffering qualities start to diminish as soon it's diluted?
