Default Neem Oil to Control Pests

    Hi folks

Has anyone used neem oil to control mites / thrips? I'm about 4 weeks into flower so have the little balls of pistols developing and have signs of leaf damage, poss thrips but have had mites on previous grows so can't rule them out either. Whatever is there isn't out of control yet.

I want a natural solution and am thinking of spraying with neem oil / soap solution. Has anyone any experience and can advise on risks of this option?

    Thanks
    DT

Whilst I've used Neem, I've never used it when in flower

I'm always leery of using chemicals once in flower. The no pest strip active ingredient is OK for edible food, but for the most part you're not eating it, your smoking it. I would be concerned that while approved for crops, it has never been tested for what happens when you burn it, and what chemicals might be produced in the smoking process. Post a pic of the leaf damage. At this point, if it's the Borg, your best bet wuold probably be just trying to wash them off every few days, and hope for the best. Neem will work, but it will leave an unpleasant taste on the buds.

If you know for a fact you have thrips I wouldn't think twice about using this stuff in flower. It's a bacteria that breaks down rapidly under grow lights, but it'll wipe out the thrips in one spray. It doesn't seem to have any harmful effects with people.
