Red face i would like your advice, please help

HI guys, I'm ready to start my first grow. Should I start with hydroponics or aeroponics or both? Also What stores do you recommend for me to buy my supplies?

You are in no way ready to start your first grow if this is the question you are asking.

    But here:

Buy a kit from Amazon for hydro.

    Cheers,
    B

I'm in soil. Easy as pie. Hydro is a daunting task for a first time grower imo.

    This ^^

I would HIGHLY recommend that you try a soil grow before diving into the deep end bud, soil is a lot easier and more forgiving than hydro for a beginner.

Hydro can be an extra investment... I'd stick with something simpler & cheaper

I've tried soil a few times. And failed miserably. If I had stayed with soil, then now, 20 years on, I might be coming to grips with how to do it properly. If you are tempted by soil and haven't grown anything before, go to the garden center and buy some soil, pots and seeds. Plus some house plants. Kill cheap stuff before your inexperience kills expensive cannabis seeds. All the first soil cannabis grows I've seen done by 'real' gardeners have been good. Half of the 'first time growing anything' cannabis soil grows I've seen have been crap.

You are asking the wrong question. The end game is becoming self sufficient, dealer free, NEVER running out of weed. Given my experience, I am one of the least efficient growers there is. The last time I ran dry, Tony Blair was Prime Minister. (At one time, I was smoking 5 or 6oz a month.)

Think of yield the way you think about fuel consumption in a commuter car. More is better for sure, but at what price? 100mpg but the thing is so unreliable that you never know if you will get to work on time? 50mpg but it's a lousy ride. How about a reliable sweet ride that gives 45mpg?

To answer your original question, hydroponic means 'without soil', so aquaponics is part of that. Aquaponics is pretty much a dead duck these days as everyone is (hopefully) sensible enough to go for low plant numbers and aquaponics isn't good for larger plants.

Hydroponics can be either active, ie. uses an air pump or a water pump eg.dwc, nft, ebb and flow etc. or passive, eg. drain to waste, which involves manual feeding.

In order of giving a new grower the most problems, what I've seen is:

Active hydro > Soil > Passive Hydro.
