This is fascinating to me. Never heard of this licensing tactic before. Next time the bloke comes to the door, if he does, go to the door with some dark sunglasses on. Tell him you're blind and can't watch a damned thing on the TV. Bonus points if you walk into the door jam a few times. That should fuck him right off lol.

Majority of people who end up in trouble is because they engaged in a conversation with the goons or even signed the 187 form, the goons have been known to pose as meter readers so just be aware. The way I do things is if I'm.not expecting any visitors then I don't answer the door, no contact no contract.

Surely they would only end up in trouble if they haven't a TV licence AND are watching live TV? That's a big difference.

My tv works perfectly fine without a license , admission is the problem and that's how they get you. Like I say no contact no contract it really is that simple

My dad hasn't bought a license in about 15 years now,he just tells them he has it hooked up to his computer for youtube and netflix and usually has no problems.

We cancelled our license many years ago signed some online declaration and not had a knock yet only a few good shows by BBC and they are on BBC4 sky at night and down and dirty the secrets of soil ,the sleigh ride and thatbbarge floating down the cut to just the sound of water AHH champion but the rest they put out is shite
