Start counting from flip or when pistils first appear?

I have seen a lot of debate about when is the right time to start counting the days till harvest, now I have been counting the days since I flipped the lights to 12/12 but am starting to wonder am I wrong in what I'm doing?

Your advise has always been spot on so I would like to hear your thoughts.

hey! Nothing wrong there m8! Day 1 flower is the day she has 12/12. When you enter the 12/12 light the plant will stretch for some weeks. How long and how much they strech comes down to the type of strain you are growing. After the stretch period is over she will stop to grow and use all her energy developing buds!

are starting to form crowns or pom poms has they are also called.

Thanks guys this will be my 3rd harvest coming up but i still have doubts in my head lol I guess one day I will look back and laugh at some of the questions I asked but hopefully by then I will be able to help someone else starting out.

I would start counting a few days before it looked like this.
Just when the little crowns start to form on the tops.

It does not matter how many days it is. Each plant will show them at different times.
