Question I plan to build a grow tent and I need some help!

    Hello Everyone!

My name is Margus and I have a issue. I don't understand how to choose a inline fan, carbon filter and led grow light for my project building a grow tent.

I want to build a 120X60X180cm grow tent. I understand that 3 autoflowering plants fit in there and I need a 200W led light enough big so all plants get light
and I don't know what to look at when buying a inline fan and carbon filter? The smell is not my friend and they have different sizes and speeds...

A long time ago I have tried to grow a plant but it didn't work out because I didn't know nothing about growing. This time I am wiser and I plan to learn how to do it the right way starting with building a grow tent.

Welcome mate, are you in the uk? Straight off the bat I'd recommend a 4 inch AC infinity extractor fan with a 4 inch filter. This fan has a wired controller so you don't have to worry about wiring one up or it being on full blast. HLG are one of the best options as far as led lights go atm. Plenty of other decent manufacturers, I have a migro and invisible sun too but it's been said many times that Hlg are top of the game.

I looked at some carbon filters online and found different sizes... for example 100x200mm (4x8), 100x250mm (4x10), 100x300mm (4x12), 100x500mm (4x20), 100x550mm... What is a good size for 120x60x180 grow tent?

Your carbon filter attaches to the extraction fan, so if you get a 4 inch fan you need a 4 inch filter, which is 100mm. You'll only need one 30 cm long so 100x300 mm would be about right

Okay, thank you The problem with the inline fan is they have different airflow (m3/h) for example 90m3/h, 156 m3/h, 198 m3/h, 320 m3/h and again I don't know what is a good airflow for 120x60x180 grow tent?

I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers mate, a 4 inch fan is enough for the tent size you're making. You'll just have a passive intake (hole usually in the bottom of your groom) and as long as you're getting negative pressure you'll be sound

Is there a specific reason that you decided on 120X60X180cm? Lack of space maybe?
