    Default Is this mildew?

    Hi guys,

I am new at growing and a little worried about my auto flowering. I planted it from seed and set it on my balcony. Shortly after it sprout, I had to go away for work, so my girlfriend watered it for me while I was gone. Other than that, it didn't get much attention. Been back a few weeks now and everything seems to going fine (other than the buds are not that thick). A few days ago I noticed some of the lower calyxes (I think that's what they're called?) and sugar leaves are turning white. I did some research and couldn't find anything conclusive about it, but I am worried it mild be powdery mildew. If anyone with experience could take a look at these photos and let me know thoughts, I would very much appreciate that.

    Thanks a bunch!

I've had powdery mildew on one plant. Was my first full grow. It looked nothing like your pics. Nearest I can describe it is like the white stuff that you dig out of a verruca and it goes quite deep.

Scrape one of those calyxes you suspect and see how deep the white stuff is. I suspect that it's frosty trichomes.

It's very hard to tell if that's mold mildew or frost. I've had mildew that was very hard to tell from just normal frosty trichomes. Not to mention when you look at a plant you want to see a healthy plant you don't want to see mildew. Once I looked real hard and close I found that the white was kind of in splotches and was not uniform.

I would get more air movement blowing across the plant and watch for anything splotchy or just spots occurring. I've found that calyx's often show mold or mildew before the rest of the plant.

If it worries you that much, just pick those Caly off, dry and smoke them while you can. JMO
