Good stuff that jacks magic with the added seaweed I'd love to use every time but it's not sold around here and with the added heavy item delivery charge it puts it into the premium price bracket of the canna soils from the grow shop damn shame

i love it. it is my go to soil now for most of my plants that need it. the price moves around a lot here but usually i can find it for a little more than the absolute budget soils (which i have had some terrible experiences with). i would definitely recommend it. shame about the lack of availability for you

hmmm is that where my confusion is coming from? i am still very new to this hobby and would love it if you could elaborate on that.
i have not actually been watering until 20% runoff because my gut told me it was too much. usually i get a small amount of runoff, but not even close to 20%. maybe 5% max. but i am still wondering if it is too much or even not enough.

The warmer the potzone in the growroom is, the more you will need to water them. For instance, my intake is coming from outside, so it's either cold air on cold days, or hot air on hot days. This determines how often they need a drink, the pots farther away from the intake duct, the less they need. To be fair though, I grow in coco so water them every day mostly.
Generally, you will start to get a feel for the weight of the pots and may notice that different plants and strains will require different amounts of water.
I would stick to around 10/15% runoff and judge each plant individually.
Pots will also dry quicker if you have them on pot stands as opposed to sitting straight on the floor.

I guess 20% is alot to. I just slapped a nr there. I give my 3 plants 13l water with 1.5l runoff. 11.5% runoff to exact
I dont water with runoff before i start to add nutes to the water.

In soil I don't water to run off. Following the example of some of the better soil growers I've seen out there. Unless there seems to be a problem and a "reset" is in order. Ever seen someone water to runoff for a houseplant? Even potted fruits/veggies like tomatoes and strawberries... never to runoff.

    YMMV

I have seen and read that to. But the few weeks i actually water with nutes is like 5. To me it feels like the way to do it. Kinda avoiding a problem before it startes

I grew once in soil before switching to coco so not much experience in soil, but the longtimers here advised not to wash out the soils nutrients by overwatering.

The 20% runoff figure is a number given to coco growers consistently when asked about it so I assumed that's where that came from.

I water to pot weight once the plants are mature. I use general hydroponics nutrients and you want runoff with general hydroponics, so 10 to 20% is what I shoot for once the plants are mature. If you are going organic, there's no need to get run off.
