Ehh, it's at least three times the hassle.

    Cheers

Whenever I was asked about weed I took to a social gathering, it was from a mate and I knew nothing about it, you tell me... If someone suggested that it was organic, then others would agree.

There is yet to be a newbie proof active hydro system. There is always a learning curve to active hydro. The way I grew was newbie proof*. I helped a mate set up their loft and there was nothing for him to think about. Mix the nutes like this every single time. Feed every day until 10% or more runoff. He has never measured ec or pH and has no intention of ever doing so. He's a natural at lst and gets a full canopy almost every grow. No online newbies want to copy me because it seems obvious to them that they can do better. Many of them do end up with better results than I get. Not on their first grow though.

When starting out, getting enough bud in jars is the priority. Copy me or copy the laziest coco grower that has a setup similar to what you're planning.

When your stash is enough to cover you for 2 poor grows, you can copy Cashmeh if you want maximum yield. Or you can copy one of our organic growers if you want the best tasting bud. Learning mistakes aren't that painful if you already have plenty of weed.

    * Grew as in past tense because my last 3 grows have been different to my usual way of doing it and some mistakes were made. Next grow I'll be back to doing it as before. 10 or 11L pots, Fytocell, photos and the lucas formula.

I would suggest hydro is less work than soil.

As I said, I don't do res changes
I don't add any thing to res for one month. I legit do not need to open the tent for one month. Just a veg tent but still.

To me the only downfall is the learning curve and setup cost. If people can get past that, they will realize how much of their time was wasted on soil.

It takes me one hour to clean system and refill with new solution.

Substantial growth, less maintenance than soil... No watering. . No feeding.. Like again, idk why people have this false idea about hydro, but I can assure you, when it's done right, it's not even comparable to soil.

It's all a personal preference, What works for one won't work for another I use Coco as I wanted a "Hydro" setup but did not want the noise or the hassle of lumping large volumes of water around.

If you know what your doing Hydro can be awesome if you make a mistake it's game over I keep getting leaned on to switch to Hydro but it's not what I want from a grow style I prefer the hands on approach I might moan about it but I moan about a lot of things I love.

There are many options of different shoes you can buy but you knew which ones to put on your feet the ones you liked I think it's the same with growing you pick a system that works for you it will make your head spin finding the right option but thats all part of the fun.

    You're abrasive at best.

To all you soil growers, please stop wasting your time.

Set up a hydro system, walk away for a month, come back and flip. That easy innit?
Oh wait, there are plants to consider. Mechanical malfunctions to consider. pH/temperature/rH drifts to consider.

None of this is set it and forget it. And plenty of us actually ENJOY working in the garden.

You make it sound like you're microwaving cannabis lol.

I mean, we could try and help OP decide on which form of hydro would match his request, or we can play this dong measuring game.

Who are you trying to convince to go hydro? The guy who already wants to pick up hydro?

    Focus.

Soil only really requires a pot, soil, water & something to measure the feed... hydro is a diferent ball game

Soil is so simple once you you get your head around feeding the soil and not the plants. Get some basic potting mix and toss some a simple organic feed (tomatoes fertilizer or some all purpose) and water your plants.

Try that and go from there. I did coco once and growth was fast but I botched it (user error). The biggest complaint was it was way more time consuming.. Mixing nutrients is a bitch.

Also, you can't take a trip without some automation. I can leave my plants for a few days with zero worry.

    sent from space

What Sourshoes says, but I never tried Coco or hydro, just seems like way too much attention to plants, when soil is so easy. ^^

I'm going with soil, it's been good enough for the past few million years .
I think it all depends on what you want and what you have, to work with. Everyone's situation is different. There are so many factors to consider, like the space you have, and the conditions of that space, time and money you want to put in etc. Different yolk for different folk.
