Grew some white widow couple years back from seed and it looked nothing like a widow?

Now these autos I'm growing now I've got 2 out of 6 that look to be growing well while the rest look at different stages.

Think I'm about done with seeds, time to find a decent mother!
I went from clones to feminised seeds because I was done with keeping mother plants.

Clone weed always ended up boring to me. I was lucky in finding a feminised strain I liked early on and have never got bored of it. Before giving up on seeds, try a strain that has been around for over 10 years from a breeder that has been around for 20 years or so. The road testing has already been done for you.

If wanting a mother plant, buy F1s from the original breeder of whatever strain you are interested in. White Widow is from Mr Nice Seeds. He changed the name to Black Widow because there were so many knock offs.

Well just an example Mephisto Genetics has different lines of seeds there Illuminautos are F1's just a basic cross no selective breeding. They make and sell these for people like us to sample and see if it is popular enough for them to pheno hunt with it. If it turns out good they hunt for a good phenotype run it through a few generations and market it under a different selection like there limited or there artisianal lines.

One other thing is breeders now a days imo see what is popular and then make
their own version of it so they can cash in on it. The stains just become so watered down
that it really is a crap shoot.

So what are we looking for to find a stable strain? Do they put f10 kinda thing in the description?

Exactly! If they done the legwork, they should be touting it on the sale page, yeah?

I guess I've seen strains with numbers attached to them, e.g., PEX #2 or GG#4. Hinting perhaps.

    Cheers

No need to read the book now. That was the best lecture I've received thus far on breeding. Very well articulated. I want to sincerely thank you for spending the time.

Fair enough. I'd be interested in some Meph. Never seen a "pedigree" report like this before.

    Cheers

I know a lot of folks like Mephisto, but I've seen a lot of problems with them on here
and for the price they charge that's unacceptable to me at least.

I would suggest a breeder that's been around along while and buy old school
regs of their own personal strains that you know they developed.
