i can honestly say, no. if you're going to spend one one thing, its your light. from what you've said, it seems you have everything else..

people are easily getting 1gpw with these hlg board and if you think about that for a sec, it pays for itself 2-3 times over.

im in coco and managed nearly 5oz from that little beast in just under 2ftx2ft. at street rates that s nearly 1000quid ive saved myself.

loved it so much i am now buying the hlg600 to replace my mars hydro that draws 510w.

ok but all our alliances and other stuff beside what makes it so different from a simple led panel that is a high CRI rating?

I want to get or make a spectrum meter so I can really have a look at what these lights are doing. But as a led is a very gradual and steady curve anyway, I do not see what the extra £100 will be doing.. I am interested.

If I do upgrade likely I would try and get a single CREE or similar COB on a fan/heatsink... 95 cri and about £60 from china...

sorry am I causing drama I apologise I will go back to the head in sand strategy

anyway this is all an experiment, also after looking into it it made me realise that the 100w led panel is more likely 70-80watts(ish) (need to buy a wattage meter for mains plugs, I do have a multi meter I just not sure how to physically measure it when live.)

plant is a little droopy today and was looking a bit pale even before I put into grow tent. It has only been a 2 days so I hope it acclimatizers and starts to get a bit more healthy.

Is this just a waste of time using this seed from my weeed? probably.. As I tried it before and out of like 15-20 plants I had 2 decent females that had decent bud, that was from a collection of old seeds I had in a little box.

I am thinking of a Haze as I love that high, Lemon Haze maybe. I love a stimulating high, mentally .. more Sativa. And I want a decent yield, lemon haze has always been very hardy and produced very well for me.

Sorry mate it's just my opinion but I don't think you'll find any led light worth a piss around £60
I went to my local grow shop and they don't sell any led light for less than £250 for good reason
Just look how your plant is begging for light now you'll be lucky to get a couple of joints worth out of it once harvested take a look at Hps I bought my 400w 6 years ago for about £80 and still use it to this day i went to buy an led the other week from the shop clutching nearly a £1000 but I ended up walking out with a £17 new barn reflector and I couldn't be happier to be staying HPS
The one thing you cant scrimp on is lighting if you want to be self sufficient
Like I say just my opinion and someone will be a long soon to disprove my theory but that's ok that's what makes the talk what it is today

    Thanks I always appreciate input.

But you're wrong because I did it already with a cheap led flood lamp that was £3 got dense decent bud on my plant.. Also you can grow and flower under cfl lights which are equally as cheap wont be so dense as HPS but it is dooable check it out on YT.. CFL have crap light coverage of the spectrum compare to LED.

I cannot use hps as its such a small space and would get too hot. If you look at the spectrum analysis of LED vs CFL vs HPS you can see that LED automatically gives a better coverage of seeable light. Just being LED alone. They are super amazing useful for this... and being super cheap...

If I had more space I would def use HPS but have LED as well to round out the spectrum and make it more like daylight.

It is not really a matter of the LED being unusable more of how efficient it is vs higher grade LED.

the plant has only just gone into the tent 2 days ago and it looked like that before it went in. will give it some time to acclimatize

getting a light for £60 from china I would be essentially getting the same thing just wholesale. Might even be same brand as one for £100+

anyway sure I am looking into the light thing but as this is also kinda an experiment just gonna see how things are moving before I make any big investments...

Honestly mate...dense buds from a £3 cheap led flood light .
    Pictures or it never happened!

You have some great advice from the guys but you dont seem to want to accept any of it.

But my hats off to you if you can grow dense buds with a flood light and light leaks on or in your tent with your photoperiod plant

I am saying facts why would I lie?

i am stating and responding and considering what else do you expect complete compliance to your advice?

I am looking into the light situation I never said never.

There isnt any light leak its a grow tent. But I did say I will most likely re enforce the flaps..
