Have read loads of people say you can over water coco when the roots aren’t established? Even that is hard I gotta admit.

Lol I’m not I only looked then to check the watering sooner was having the effect I wanted. With getting more roots at the top. No need to check now and she’s drinking daily with ease. So will be getting potted up the weekend.

If I don't finish a test grow, I don't count it as a grow. I've only done 1 finished grow with coco although I have grown 3 seed plants and 1 clone in coco.

With all of them, on the day they went into the 5L pots, the coco got a full feed. Until there was plenty of runoff. Thereafter, it was 1L per plant per day. They didn't need that much for the first few weeks but I like them to have plenty of runoff. As liquid comes out the bottom of the pot, air gets sucked in from the top.

My seedlings get around 5L each per day from the 1st day they are above ground in coco. Never had one over watered.

Imagine a pint glass turned upside down over your seed ..... water anything not covered by the glass. Soak it to run off, prevents salt build up and ensures fresh clean nutrient at the appropriate PH and EC levels is available everywhere.

The area under the pint glass will wick moisture in. But the roots want more so they go searching. This way they find saturated nutrient rich coco.

When you see growth above ground the roots are in place. Build the roots to grow the fruits

If you only pour a couple hundred mls of feed round the stem the roots will only find a couple hundred mls around the stem. Roots don't like dry coco

Adding to the point Mac made about the (imaginary) inverted pint glass.

Doing that keeps the feed away from the tiny seedling. Every time I have been clumsy with the feed and the seedling moved because of my clumsiness, she was a runt. ime, small seedlings are as tough as mature plants wrt strength of lighting and strength of nutrients. It's physical abuse that does for them.

You'll know when the roots are established because she'll take off like Jeff Bezos's dildo. Then the feed can be sloshed in like you're feeding pigs.
