TBH, I think people get a little too hung up on how to germinate...

I fill a shot glass with tap water, drop the seed in overnight & then transfer it to damp kitchen towel which I put in a tupperwear style container & leave it on the kitchen bench... regardless of the temp!

To reiterate, No PH'ing, no temp control (even in the winter!)

If you are having issue then be aware that not all seeds will germinate quickly...!

    i agree with M_C.
i have only planted about 30 cannabis seeds so far in my life but i have always put them straight into damp soil, no wet paper towel, no glass of water, just straight under the lights and i have had 100% success rate so far. i do expect to lose some occasionally in the future, but so far so good.
once they are planted i keep the soil damp with an atomizer when needed and just be patient. my seedlings are usually out within 2-5 days.

    edit:
i should probably add that my seeds have so far always come from a reputable source. maybe i wouldn't have been so lucky with different seeds.

    hi im growing hydro DCW

i didn't worry with the first lot of seed just put em in a propagator didn't ph water or anything but after two weeks one grew a rout rest did nothing none sprouted at all

luckily after post temps have dropped and their sitting under LED ph`ed rockwool and temp is 25.7 and 85percent humidity so that should be perfect condition

so fingers crossed this time iv never grown from seed before only clones

the first lot of seeds that dint germinate were from herbies dark devil and blue desile

new lot are from grizlys some black cream sweet seeds and som fast buds wedding cheese cake

I'll put a seed in a shot glass of tap water for 20-24 of darkness, then into a damp Rapid Rooter plug that goes into a domed propagator under a T5 light. Mist the dome daily and wait it out.

It may be time to look at the genetics - and the storage of these seeds

Do you soak the rock wall cubes and remove any runoff? make sure the base of the propagator is dry, if the rock wall cubes are sitting in water, the seeds can rot.
It's best to soak the cubes once, lift the lid once a day, the cubes should stay damp for a week if they dry out give them a small amount of water and remove any runoff.

If you want to germinate in plugs I would ditch the rockwool and use Coco plugs. You can get them that have a weak nutrient solution designed just for seedlings they work great.

I used to have a 100% reliable germination method that was awkward. p/v in peat pots standing in an inch of water. After they'd sprouted, the fun was getting the soggy pot out of it's tray without damage.

I'm using coco pellets now. I was dubious at first because I don't like having to make judgement calls. Like 'Keep them damp, don't let them dry out.' What is a solid definition of 'damp' or 'dry'? Guesswork needed.

My routine has been working so far although I'm still starting an extra seed for safety. From seed packet into an expanded coco pellet, 1" deep. Close up the hole. Put under the 24/0 light and mist every 8 hours until they sprout. Last one up gets to visit the round filing cabinet.
