    Default AC Infinity Fans

I eventually put up my new fan, an AC Infinity Cloudline S6 (6"), to replace my RVK 5"

I was unsure about the extra size but wanted something that would idle quietly - and boy! Does it do just that!

It comes with its own controller with 1-8 settings & at 4 & 5 it's silent with my groom closed, and at 6, I can just hear it

OK, a little more than you may normally pay for a fan but, if you want quiet, this is most definatly the way to go

Want one? Have a chat with LED Harry in his LED Grow Shop UK subforum, or just pop along to his site - https://ledgrowshop.co.uk/ (they do a great selection of lighting too )

What these like compared to the 6inch rvk L1 fans (sound and air movement)? I'm having to use a hybrid controller to help with low speed humming and in my opinion isn't the best controller so would be looking at replacing it.

If these fans are decent ill get rid of my rvk and controller and just replace with two of these fans.

I haven't fitted my S4 (4") yet. I have turned it on to mess about with an idea involving an air diffuser. Which didn't go the way I hoped. Because of the diffuser, not the fan.

I'm impressed with the fan. It has a slow start and takes maybe 15 seconds to get to full speed. It has a push button speed controller and an led dial shows which setting it's on. Very quiet, even at full speed. I had it resting on the kitchen worktop and it was virtually vibration free at full speed.

It has me thinking about using an S4 for internal airflow. I gave up using internal fans because they're a pita. An S4 used for internal airflow would be a set and forget solution. Although it seems expensive, the S4 cost me a fraction of what I've spent on internal fans over the years. It would also need 4" solid ducting plus elbows and tees but hey, set and forget internal airflow.

To any new growers reading this, start with an AC Infinity fan. Doesn't cost that much more than a naked rvk and you get problem free speed control. Unlike lighting, growers seldom change their extractor fan so whatever you start with, you'll be using it for many a year.

Average 6inch rvk runs about 48-55dBA at full chat. The AC Infinity S6 runs 32dBA full chat and shifts 402cubic feet per minute (683 cubic meters per hour) so more than enough grunt

They are EC motors too so they don't hum when slowed down as they use PWM control (pulse width modulation)

Uses a lot less power too 64w max 38w average

It's the low noise level that got me thinking about using an S4 for internal airflow. My original idea was to have a 4" bathroom fart fan taped to an air diffuser in the middle of the grow. With 360 degrees of air movement, no oscillation needed. Looking up the fart fans, they were quoted at 45db. wtf? The S4 is only 28db at full power.

I had the S4 doing nothing so I ordered a diffuser to check out my idea. The diffuser works too well. Holding a Rizla paper to check airflow, it gave pizza shaped air movement. Only a few inches of 'height'. Have it an inch above the top of the pots and I doubt that the leaves of the plants would sway at all.

I removed the diffuser and tried different speed settings. At the lowest speed, it was about right for blowing a cone of air through a plant from underneath. That looks promising. A few tees and elbows and I can have 4 cones of air blowing through the canopy.

Toss that thing in the bin mate!

I also have a 6" RVK L1 fan, i know what it sounds like, even with a controller!

I'd got it for a great price some time back... but it's just too noisey for my needs

I run two of the 6 inch cloudlike in my 4x4 so I can run them both at like 2-3 and it is silent.
