Should I put my freshly Germinated seeds into soil in my propagator under the light?

My seeds have germinated and all have nice long taproots.

I've put them into bio-bizz all mix soil in my propagator with a thermal dome and put them under the light in my tent.

Is this the right thing to do? Should they be under the light 24/0 until they pop up from the soil?

I've never bothered with lighting until they pop the soil

Neither IMHO... but it will cost to run the light for no benefit

There is a slight benefit to starting them under the light. It ensures a constant temperature although that isn't always needed.

Some years ago I started seeds in a bedroom. It was autumn and the weather was warm. A third of them sprouted in 4 days. That night, there was an unexpected cold snap and none of the rest sprouted. Because of that, I won't start seeds anywhere except under the grow light if the central heating isn't on.

With my first try with coco pellets, I started them in the kitchen. Can't remember why, probably me being lazy. The central heating was on so the room temp wouldn't fall below 20'C. They sprouted in 6 days.

On Wednesday afternoon, I started 3 seeds, no pre soak, from seed pack to coco pellet and straight under the cmh running 24/0. Temps 29'C/30'C. 2 had sprouted yesterday evening. That's 60 hours from seed pack to sprout.

I soak mine overnight then into coco or soil under the light,they usually sprout within 2-3 days.
If you are using LED just make sure to reduce the power way down,saves the plants from too much light and saves money!

've had one out of the three sprout since I made this post. There is a possibility of another on it's way up. I'll have to wait and see.

I have them under 24/0 lighting at the moment.

I was wondering when or if I should switch to an 18/6 cycle.

They are autoflowering seeds.
