Hey to all my good people out there! My name is John and I’m 25 y/o and from Tennessee. Trying to get some basic tips on how to grow indoors or really any tips dealing with the Mary J. Maybe meet some new people willing to share some knowledge. I’ve had vegetable gardens my whole life but found out growing the good grass is much different. Tennessee doesn’t have the best conditions to grow outside so I was going to try indoor. I have a pretty good size shed with nothing in it and wondering about what type of equipment I would need and a estimate of how much $ it might take and where to get some high grade seeds. Just trying to experiment a little. Grown weed several times but always ends up with a giant plant with no buds. That was outside tho. Kind of hard to keep good grass around here in Tennessee so if I could provide my own I might have found a cheat code to life????. Any help would be appreciated and hopefully I can learn some new things. Love and peace peoples.

    Welcome to the site Johnyboy,
I’ve had vegetable gardens my whole life too and I am growing weed in a shed, I would use a similar soil mix for tomatoes and cucumbers, just need to add 20% perlite, could top dress the plants, 4 weeks in flower with seaweed meal.
I only use basic dry plant food, fish blood, and bone, bonemeal, chicken manure, seaweed meal, Epson salt, and a good compost from the local garden center.
it's just a plant like all the others you have grown.

    Hi John.

No light should ever get out of the shed. That includes when you enter and leave the shed. A tent can fix that but tents can bring their own problems. They need ducting and don't always last. A cab built at the back of the shed can be light tight and not need ducting. It will also be permanent. With a cab, have the extractor fan blow filtered air straight to the outside. AC Infinity fans are currently the best option imo. They may seem more expensive but they are quiet, powerful, you won't need a speed controller and they won't hum.

The shed will benefit from insulation to reduce the effects of seasonal variations. Best to do that first. The cab will need a passive intake towards the floor to allow air in. Tents have that built in. The shed will also need a passive inlet to allow fresh air in from outside. Use pantihose as a filter to stop pests getting in.
