10-14 days of straight tap water is all you need, most of the nutrient companies are pulling everyones pants down with their nonsense claims of what their nutrients can do.
K.I.S.S. simple is, as simple does.

If you need to flush, then your real priority is getting more yield.
Stop running dry between harvests. It's not healthy.
Only thing I flush is the porcelain throne.

I’ve seen unflushed hydro bud spark like gunpowder.
Usually crackles, burns black and solid like plastic.

Some interesting replies, but most of them are aimed at flushing at the end of a grow, and I don't quiet agree that flushing agents, are some kind of snake oil, they have a use.
To add an extra element, when using coco, or soil you can use a flushing agent at any time during the grow, I add Yucca extract to my reservoir every time I mix up a new batch of nutrients.
The Yucca is a flushing/wetting agent, so it makes sure that the nutrient solution is deployed to all area's of the pot and root zone when top feeding, I find this beneficial.
Also sometimes if you over feed and need to flush any excess nutrients out of the medium a flushing agent is well worth using so you have less chance of leaving any nutrient pockets within the medium.
Flushing at the end of a grow has always been a matter of opinion, I do flush, but I will add cane molasses and enzymes to the reservoir, so that plant is still being fed, via the enzymes munching on the molasses, providing carbs for the plant.

I use wetting agent for film photography. Only needs a few drops for it to work. About half the cost of the cultivation wetting agent.

I don't use wetting agents (surfactants) but am curious you are using what is likely a synthetic wetting agent for photography. Plants prefer nonionic surfactants which is what I assume yours is. Do you know the ingredients of your wetting agent?

I didn't word my post very well.
I use a wetting agent for film photography, not for cultivation.
