Default Small Scale Semi-Autonomous Drain To Waste Question

    Hi,

I will be starting my second ever grow within a few weeks, and first ever grow in a semi-automated coco drain to waste setup in a 2x4 tent. I have everything ironed out and set up, from reservoir, to nute-line, to table, to condensate pump..

Where are you guys/gals pumping your condensate pump hose to? A seperate waste reservoir? Outside, into a gardening bed? My original idea, which was to pump outside into a garden bed, kinda hit a roadblock when I considered sub-freezing temps.

Any ideas? Bonus points for craftyness.

I pump in to a 25ltr barrel, then I dispose of this down the drain

I run waste to outside into a ground soak. I use 40mm pipe so it hard to freeze that even if the temperature plummets.

Terrible for environment guys, I need to tell myself

Lewis and gardro, thanks for the responses.

I am kind cross between these two options. I like the 40mm pipe idea, but concerned about keeping the buggies and critters out. Maybe a screen/filter in pipe, or p-trap on inside of building before going outside.. hmm.

But then again, maybe filling a waste reservoir till it needs to be pumped, then pumping that all outside at once might be an option.. hmm.. Maybe a cappable through wall conduit next to waste reservoir that can be utilized periodically, only as needed, so that I don't have to break out long hoses and apparatus everytime that I need to pump.

I hesitated buying a waste reservoir while out yesterday in an effort to curb impulsive spending , but need test out system, timers, etc in order to prep for my first attempt. Ok, so I guess that I will be buying another Brute trashcan today..

gardro, I lol'd at your last comment.. It will be a "future garden bed". See, now I feel better about it..

    Thanks!
