    Default Diy led

I have been looking up videos on YouTube about making led grow lights,
Amazon has 100w cod leds, £7.99 with a built in driver,
Seems too good to be true, OK I would need a good quality soldering iron, heatsinks and thermal glue, a few other bits but is going to be a good flower light for a 2ft x 2ft flower room or a waste of money?

Any help would be great, this is how far I have got so far.

Hi gardro, what do you mean by lethal
Is it like a hps? (will burn you if you touch it)will add a small reflector it or is the led unstable(odd one catches fire)?

I wouldnt apply mains to anything cheap like that from China. They have used gloop instead of isolation.

Even it was safe, the efficiency of these are very low. They flicker at 50Hz so your photon output will have an average of half what you think it is.

    Thanks Gardro,
Do you know of a safe, effective 100w cob, ballast you can buy?

Any cob running from DC with a good driver will be fine.

Citizen, cree or luminus seem to be good but not looked at cobs for a few years.
