    Default nutrient mixing

ok so im a little confused (which some of you may know isn't hard )

ok so as im only growing one auto atm in coco im not needing to mix up a lot of nutrients

so can nutrients be mixed up in bulk say a weeks worth?

as atm im watering 500ml of water and its an absolute frigging pain in the rear to get the ph dialled in.

im using broth technology up and down and literally i put a single drop in and it bottoms the ph out.

once I've messed around going up and down up and down the ec is almost at 0.8 because of bouncing between the up and down.

    driving me crazy

    Dilute it mate.

Get a cap off an empty bottle and fill with a bit of water and add 5 or 6 drops of your PH up or down.

Then just take your drops from the cap.

Also I think you can mix up your Nuits and they will keep for 3 or 4 days, but just check your PH before each feed.

I'll keep mixed nutrients sometimes for a week. Besides checking the pH you might also want to keep an eye on your EC. Depending on what you are mixing, I've sometimes noticed a change ( usually an increase ) in EC over time.

If you're mixing up a large batch, you may want to pop a recirculating pump in there to ward off settling.

Yea, settling may be an issue over time with some nutrients. I just mixed-up a nutrient (containing granular Guano ) formula today to be used tomorrow. Before I apply it I will drain off the supernatant.

Best not to use pH up and down in the same mix. Use one or the other, not both. If you happen to use too much pH down, double the volume of water and add the same amount of nutes as before. That way, you've halved the amount of pH down in your mix.

It is possible for the nutes to be ok for the best part of a week. 10 days or more in my case. Because that works for some does not mean that it works for everyone. You'll need to learn how long your nutes are good for by testing. Measure the pH of the nutes every day and replace them if the pH has drifted out of range.

Find a glass bottle with a secure top and dilute the pH down. Keep a note of how diluted it is for future dilutions. An good dilution would be you needing 2ml of it to get the pH you want with a constant volume of nutes.

Acid to water, like you 'oughter. < Do not ever break that rule. Never ever.

Ahh ok this might be why I’m getting such a high EC as I’m using such little water say it’s reading at 6.9 in 500ml of water one drop of ph down drops it to like 3.2 so I’m constantly bobbing up and down.

Ok thank you I will go get something to mix more water in today instead of a 1ltr jug thanks for the information guys!!!

I've always used a 100ltr water tank with a recirculating pump pulling from the bottom up to the top, empty and replace every week but i found it a chore to keep the ph stable with the large volume of water as it was constantly creeping up.

Having a smaller batch of nutrient mix will be easier to ph and also give time for chlorine to escape just dont leave it stagnant for too long.

Cheap as chips to rig up a small pump and a bit garden hose pipe, if you do that route i would suggest a 90 fitting to pump the water against your tank it keeps the water noise down

Cheers for that bud Yh I’m thinking only like a 10ltr bucket or something nothing major. Just to help with ph’ing etc as it’s a pita trying to ph 500ml of water
