Default Forum Section Suggestion - The Dueling Ground

    Hey there!

I was having a smoke when an idea hit and I didn't want to think it through before just blasting it out there. No filter.

The dueling grounds could be used for many things as long as it was a comparison.

Side by side experiments would fit nicely here.
A companion grow like the Krofam/MrC 100w grow.
A straight up challenge! (Wanna grow, V?)
A nifty place to compare a current grow with one from the past. Yours or otherwise.

Hopefully you get the drift. A bit of fun a bit of learning for all to see.

    That's my pitch, Sharks.

    Cheers,
    B

I've had thoughts about this sort of thing too

    This sounds fun.

I've got a test planned for the current grow. To see if Fytocell can be left for a full week. If they can last a week, that would be handy for those who can't always be there. When the 12/12 stretch is over, they'll be getting a trim. I'll give them a week to recover from that and then stop feeding the rear plant for 7 days.

I don't think random would work so well. I reckon you could issue challenges but I'm not thinking of 'dueling' as a feud between two members. Could be between soil and coco or 3 gallon and 5 gallon pots.

Like a comparison venue. Side by side is the only real requirement in my mind.

If side by side they have to be the same strain?

Testing different pot sizes side by side could be awkward. One grow with enough 3g pots to get a full canopy vs the next grow of (fewer) 5g pots to get a similar canopy. The smaller pots should have the shortest veg time. A saving in leccy vs using more seeds.

I very much like this idea. Challenge "bigger roots bigger fruits" mantra against what actually provides the best efficiencies.

Farmer, you'd probably run wild with something like this. Hope we get to see some science outta all this.

    Cheers

Here's a science question: Which costs the less to grow, photos or autos?
