    Default Edible gummies shortcut

I tried making edible gummies from scratch with infused coconut oil and they were crap, horrible oily things. Like solid fromage frais, not for me. So out of frustration I just figured what harm could it do to melt haribo gummi bears, add rosin and remould...well fuck me it works. Just made some so here's the way I do it

    First the gubbins :

    Decarbed Rosin
Gummies (if you want same colour/flavour you need to buy bulk or multiple £1 bags)
    Heatproof bowl
    Pan of boiling water
    Mould of your choice
    Squirter/baster thing
    Silicone spatula
    Icing sugar
Anything you can find to act as a stand for the bowl to sit on so it's not directly on the heat of the pan. I've used small duct clips, a chicken shaped pastry cutter and most recently a small flan case
Mason jar or other sealed container, I've had some in a mason jar in the fridge for a month or more, still as sweet and strong as when they went in

I used 1.7g rosin to 99.9 g of gummies, here's a thread of how to calculate dosing

    https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-for...hs-help-please

    Create your double boiler

When you've worked out your Gummi to rosin ratio set up a pan of boiling water on the hob/stove and keep it bubbling, just not so much it's splashing into the bowl of gummies. Drop the stand in the pan then put the bowl on it and your water should go about halfway up your bowl so it keeps it warm enough to melt the gummies.

It's not gonna take long for them to start to melt, keep the kettle boiled as you'll most likely need to add more water to the pan + at the end before remoulding you'll be adding a bit of the boiling water to the gummi mix.

Once the gummies have all melted, drop your lump of rosin in and that again will melt pretty quickly. Just poke and drag it around a bit until it's swirled in then give it a good mix. Leave it on the heat for a few minutes while stirring now and then.

When you're satisfied it's combined add a bit of boiling kettle water. I'm talking (depending on batch size) ML so in this case it was about 5-10 ml of water just to make it thin enough to get sucked up the tube but not so wet it struggles to reform. Now's the time to call on that primary school wisdom "You can always add more but can never take it out" If you overwater it, it'll be fucked so watch out, little bit at a time then stir, you'll notice the difference. If you don't add water, because it's so thick as soon as you suck it up it starts to set and won't come out the tube in time. This really is a race against time in a way, always keep the bowl in the water and you may find if it's not on the hob bubbling, it'll start to get thicker.

When it comes to piping them into the mould, while dipping the pipette or what ever the frig it is into the melted gummies keep it on the move even when suckin up, it'll make it quicker and save you a fuck ton of bother by gettin flustered wondering why it keeps stoppin or sucking air. Keep the end on the bottom of the heatproof bowl and keep it moving and it'll suck up everytime if you're consistency is A-ok. If it is too thick you can add more water remember, just make sure it's boiling so it mixes in as quick as possible. Then just fill each space in your tray, when you're done bang it straight in the fridge for 24 hrs. They'll likely be set before then but I just leave for 24. (I fridged for a few hrs then froze for 1 hr for purpose of finishin this)

Last thing, when they're set, get a bowl and dump some icing sugar in, then drop each gummi in and roll it around until fully coated in sugar. Up to you how you do this. If you put all of them in then mix em they'll be stuck together and although they come apart without breaking it's still a pain in the arse. Or do them 1-2 at a time but still painstaking, but it's necessary. There's a chance you may get away without sugar if they aren't sticky but I've never found that to be the case. When they're all coated I sift off the excess sugar and they go straight in a jar (and my gob) and go in the fridge.

I generally get a very decent head stone for 10- 20 mins off 1, multiple doses will get more intense

    Enjoy

Collect stuff, make boiler and dump in gummies

    Melt gummies

    Add rosin

    Mould bk into shape

Cover in sugar and fill ya jar

And of course, as is tradition the world over, you get to lick the bowl out

I've heard this method works well and it is a good write up to stick, I believe.

I keep thinking about these - but I hear too many horror stories when people have, 'overdosed' on the damn things

Was this the same batch of rosin you whipped up into a butter recently? I'd also like to know how you decarbed it.

I'm pretty bored and have Haribo Gummy Bears in stock. Would love to copy cat.

    Cheers

I've done it a few times now. Once I sorted the consistency it was plain sailin. Remember no matter what you're still gonna end up with a blob of edible lol.

With the rosin I decarb for about 25-30 mins, middle shelf at 110c ish. Make sure its in a pan with greaseproof paper in (not wax paper) and it comes up at the sides so the rosin doesn't run off as it'll turn to liquid. Do it until it stops kickin up bubbles. I'd have a little google of it, maybe watch a quick video so you know visually what to expect

Having 1 of these isn't even as strong as a dab hit, I reckon like smokin a blunt or hittin a bong. But it's definitely more of a spliff stone than a amsterdam brownie stone I don't like encouraging ppl to do edibles, this is just a fair description to put your mind at rest if possible.

Best to suck on em too instead of chew and swallow

Hey, by the way. I copied your recipe and they were by far and away better than the gummies from scratch.

10/10 would recommend to a friend.
