Default Springtails in Coco? I need a nae or a yae.

I'm pretty sure I have spring tails. Like anywhere from 1to 5 max in the runoff after the daily feed. I've read conflicting things, some good, some bad. They jump about when pulled out of the water and there seems to be no evidence of them bar when I get my run-off. Leaves and coco top layer seem sound. Literally just wee tiny white bugs in the run-off.

I'm growing in canna professional plus coco, under 300w CFL.
Got some pictures if anyone has a better idea of what they are but I think springtails. I hope springtails.

Any advised is very much appreciated!?

    Cheers,

    Tartan

I’ve had them, they say they do no harm. Can’t say if the plants were affected no ill effects.

I had thousands of them on a couple of occasions, heaven knows how they come in.
I use hygrozyme in my res now,it’s a kind of sterile enzyme thingy, not seen them since.

See ive read they feed on dead roots or maybe decaying organic matter or some sort of other more sophisticated way of saying that, and along the lines of what you said beth - i don't use any of these cannazym things so maybe they need to be there because there is dead roots to eat and maybe getting that stuff would rid them from the grow.

Mehh seems like a coupla yaes to me. Ta very much Beth and Scoot.

They only eat dead stuff, so no problem.

Well I take that back I’ve just flooded my pot to check the flood level and some were floating on the top of the water.
I used a jug to skim them out.
None in my res or brain as of yet.
    Go away you little shits

Springtails are probably beneficial. What's going to eat the dead stuff if springtails don't?
