I like autos, because of the ruderalis influence they tend to grow, low and bushy and take LST very well, very well suited for tents that have limited vertical space. That said, take the seed to harvest estimates with a grain of salt, at best they're estimates, sometimes I think they're WAG's! (Not even SWAGS!)

If you want a fast finish, those 7 photos could go into 12/12 now. Before autos it was a way to get a fast harvest. Veg for a week, then 12/12. They will take a couple weeks longer than whatever the flowering time is for that strain although you're already one week in.

Yield per plant will be on the low side but you've got 7 of them.

They suggest that 12/12 from start gives a similar result to an auto... but takes another week or so to start flowering....

I havent done autos yet, actually just received my seeds for next run, which will be autos. I can tell you why I chose to though.

    -Quicker
-Easier (in theory). dont have to worry about light schedules or the occasional power outtage stressing your plants or goign into flower/re-veg.
-Honestly, the biggest reason Im excited Is because I want to be able to go down and look at my plants when ever I want. I had a power outage at my house the other week and it screwed my times up. My plants sleep when im at home after work and are up when Im sleeping. theres a very small window right before work that i can check on my plants.

I do have my concerns that worry me.

-Everythings gonna be faster. Small window to top and train. This next run was supposed to be a learniug experience to refine skills. learn how to get the most out of topping and LST. Try to maintain the nutrient feedings and identify and treat deficiencies/toxicities before they become major issues. Now I feel like im growing just to grow. Which is ok. But looking at these guys on here has really motivated me to improve. So much potential. So exciting.
-Worried my lack of experience is gonna have a significant effect on the yield. Sometimes i think the only reason theres gonna be anythign left to harvest on this grow is because of quality genetics. I think if they were random bagseed I would have killed them by now

Guess it's a long age question auto/photo years ago forums were all growing was from regs cuts then fems ,I'd edge my bets that the majority of forum growers are now auto as times have changed

Those are the same reasons I like growing photos. Lots of flexibility and a great way to learn the basics of growing cannabis.
My heart will always be with photos, but I definitely plan to try autos since I joined this forum. Actually....looking forward to it as something "different " to learn.
