can we update the rules or train our staff?

a few staff have been deleting links and saying links are not allowed. the only mention of links i can find in the rules are spam links and disturbing links etc.
i have avoided posting helpful links because i have been told links are not allowed, but after checking the rules i think THCTalk staff are just making up their own rules.
can we have some clarity on this in the rules?

Well I find this a very odd thread forager because I just looked back at your last 10 - 20 posts and I see none of the staff have removed any links, and by the 'tone' of your thread, it's coming across as something that's recently happened?...can you link me to the posts you're referring to so I can take a look please?

Unless of course you're posting about another members links?.. again feel free to post them here so I can take a look.

There is no 'making up' of any rules, however sometimes some links can be a 'grey area', so we make informed decisions on those that fall into that category.

Follow this guide and you'll be fine ;

No external linking to any websites apart from links to our sponsors...we can make exceptions if the information would be helpful to the community and the website is not selling/advertising, if you're unsure then feel free to PM one of us.

You may however post links to youtube vids, or embed them here as long as they are not blatant videos selling anything, malicious, abusive or self advertising vids.

As I say though, if you're ever unsure do feel free to send over a PM and ask

it's not recent, and not even my posts that have been removed necessarily. it happened across different threads at different times and to different people, it's just the vibe i have been picking up from some of the staff. i have seen links removed that are not offensive or spam and it felt biased, but who am i. i could probably dig some of it out but that would be a little petty, and a waste of time, these buds won't smoke themselves

that paragraph you posted does clear it up a lot actually, thank you. from now on, if in doubt i will screen links first unless they are on a sponsors page. the youtube vids will very rarely apply to me anyway since i avoid them like the plague that they are.

thank you for clearing it up. would it be possible to get that paragraph you wrote pasted into the rules? that was my first call for info but the info there doesn't really line up with this.

One of the requirements in the rules is to have a sense of humour so you're running the risk of an infraction almost daily, forager.
