But now with planning on two lights and a extra fan I'm edgey.
Can a electrician spure of a socket to the shed and put a socket in there o you think.
although the heater is 3kw, if it is only using 1.8kw then the total 2.4kw would have been fine (assuming UK), but personally i would use the absolute max pull when calculating my power needs, just to be safe.
yes, an electrician will be able to install a socket, it shouldn't be a problem depending on physical aspects.

i would check the outside sockets current limits to be sure, but if you are in UK and the plug fits then chances are it is a 13A socket so it will be fine (W/V=A). if you are leaving it in there permanently just be sure no rain or moisture from the air can creep in. i would recommend a couple of properly installed sockets next to or in the grow room if you have that option.

is that box connected to the 2400w reel?

i found the box online. just so everybody knows the specs. i'm not sure why it says 2x400W OR 2x600W and i'm not sure why that conflicts with the 3000W max, but this is taken straight from their website:

    Suitable for: 2 x 400W or 2 x 600W lights
    Contacts: 3 x continuous power, 2 x timed
    Umax: 250 V/50 Hz.
    VAmax: 3000W
    Pmax: 13A
    IP class: 20

With heater extension cords I was simply told to make sure its amperage is rated greater than the device draw. I have a dedicated 14 gauge extension cord rated at 15 amps going into a dedicated 20 amp wall outlet. My heater draws either 12 amps at 1500 watts or 6 amps at 750 watts depending on where I set it. I'm not an electrician but it seems to working fine with no issues.

I'm just lost with ti's because last year in the shed I was using a 3000kw heater set on half 1500w a 600w digital ballast a think 5" outtake a fish tank heater a pump for oxygen in the rez a pump for the feed and all was good. The plug was cold o the touch nothing never blown or tripped and the extension wire was always cold.
I'm at a loss why a fire never started

    Indeed lol

    “I’m at a loss why I haven’t had a fire”
“So am I “ said the fire officer.

But seriously I’ve had a 2400w rad with a water heater and 2 fans on an extension.
One day whilst going into the room there was a funny smell.Checked all over and it were the extension plugged into the socket. The plug was melting in the socket.
I was actually going to go on holiday and leave the room running but decided to switch off and lose everything…..so glad I did.

Didn’t cost much to have an mcb from the fuse box going into a couple of sockets in the garage.
    Better safe than sorry IMO.

it could be that not everything was on at the same time, or it could be that you were higher than 13A, but within the actual allowance (which is above 13A), or maybe you weren't pulling as much as you thought.
sometimes we get lucky, but since you have noticed it you should definitely fix that for the future.

Heater not going to be on constant just when it drops below a certain temp so probably when lights are off also I'm hoping at half setting 1500w
