I'm wanting a one mix all the way nute regime for Mega Crop. That might not happen but it's what I want and I'm going to see if it's possible.
I spent some time on the Greenleaf feeding schedule and there is a relationship between grams used, res volume and ec. (Why wouldn't there be?) With a 20L res, dividing the grams used by the quoted ec gives 19.0 to 19.2. Let's call it 20 for now. That means any chosen ec equals the grams per litre used.
For an ec of 1.67 and a 47L res, 47 x 1.67 = 78.5. Times 0.95 because it's 19 not 20, gives 74.57. The Mega Crop schedule gives 74.6g for mid flower to harvest, ec 1,67. Handy if you want to use a specific ec.
A level teaspoon of Mega Crop weighed 6g. Regular enough for 5 tsp to weigh 30g. I calculated the ec for 3 mixes in 20L of water. 4 tsp = ec 1.26. 5 tsp = 1.58. 6 tsp = ec 1.89.
The plan was to have 3 different pH levels and let the plants decide their preference.
I made a 20L mix with 4 tsp of MC. pH 5.75. (My tap water is pH 7.0.) I then added 1 tsp of MC, fully dissolved, and poured that res into another res to ensure that it was mixed. Then I added another tsp of MC, making it a 6 tsp res.
What I wasn't expecting was that all 3 pH readings were 5.75. (+/- 0.25.) Does Mega Crop have pH perfect qualities? I'm not complaining if it does.
With the pH looking solid, I only have to learn which ec they find acceptable from start to finish.
