I saw a very detailed you tube video of how to make the heating element. Looks simple has chips if you have the tools.

I'll try to find it and link it for ya.

    Thanks Blue!

I will definitely take a look at that! I can put together the plates and frame easy. I think that’s going to be my next project

Not necessarily, I’ve been looking for the right material to use for the plates and it turns out it isn’t that easy to get hold of. My close pal works at a metal distribution company and even he can’t get hold of it

Yeah I didn’t think it would be difficult to get hold of, I didn’t realise it’s a specific grade of aluminium. 6061 to be exact, and the places I’ve found online to actually get it only do it like 1ft by 1ft slabs and so on

If you query some local fabrication or machine shops that work a lot of aluminum projects, you might be able to coax them into cutting/selling you only what you need. Conversely, depending on where you are based out of, you could order up something like this in pic below (not exact dimensions, but they offer a variety and not near my press now to pull a tape..)

I went with the store bought route myself and joined team dulytec. Might not be my "forever" press, might be. It works pretty well for what I do though..
