    Default Unanswered: Calmag with coco?

    Hey people.
Tomorrow I'll be sorting out my groom ready to run some Cindy jocks.

I'm running drain to waste with coco, I've had people advise me to run cal mag with coco something I've never really done until I've had issues.

My water ec is 0.4 would i really need cal mag?

    Cheers
    Funky

RO water defo needs calmag pal 100% sure of that.

Not sure exact amount but would hazard a guess at around 0.2 - 0.3.

Sure someone will chime in for the pair of us

Hey Funky, well in my opinion with your 0.4 it would be a great idea to foliar spray the plant with calmag once every week or so (not that the magnesium is needed as much, but eh, it's in its easiest form to get hold of)...

The reason being is that coco holds on and absorbs the calicum and doesn't release it for the plants to use unfortunately, you can keep adding calcium, but the coco will continue to absorb it unless of course you buffer the coco yourself which is basically soaking the coco in a mix of diluted calmag, so that the coco can take all it can hold, then any you add via nutrients will be freely absorbed by the plants.

I know coco holds on to cal. and the plants under led's need more mag.
A lot of folks raise their base ec by.2 with cal/mag and then add nutes until
they reach the ec they want. So if base ec is .2 then add cal/mag to .4.
Sure someone with more knowledge will be here soon.

Actually you wanna spray during lights on..

Wait for around an hour for the plants stomata in the leaves to be fully open, but be sure to raise your lights and make sure it's well ventilated, then when dry you can bring them back down to avoid scorching

If you want more info on washing/buffering coco, Mac does his every time and worth asking him his process - https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-for...post1071167665
