OK, I'll top her then. Should I remove the lower shoot at the same time or wait a few days?

That takes the very bottom (single leaf) node off... it doesn't seem to produce much later on.
And leaves you with 6 branches to train your canopy.

Recently I've been topping much higher. At 7/8 or not at all for shorter plants. Honestly, I think I prefer this math.

    So:

    -8
    +7
    +6
    +5
    +4
    +3
    +2
    -1

That said, I've topped at 3,4,5,7,8,and 12 now... They all smoked the same. Some had more height than others.

Are you struggling with height in the tent?

    Cheers

I like it. What weeks (on average) have you been getting into flower?

Auxins... When you top it, the plant is going to redirect energy into the growth tips below it. I take that little guy off so those baby branches don't steal the energy from the branches you want to train.

Autos... There's no hard date right? I've seen preflowers at day 17 while I was topping the plant. It was the Blackberries. I don't consider it true flower until the stretch is done. That's when I change the feed anyways.

You need that N for the shoots during stretch. I don't know. The more I grow, the less I consider these rules and moreso suggestions.

This plant, in my categorization, just started flowering today as It's no longer stretching.

Some folks would argue that it's been in flower for weeks. Bet it smokes regardless

    Cheers

I would rip that plant from the soil and eat it. That couldnt have ended well
It only got 14" (35cm) tall. Gave me 30g. though.

If you are gonna top it,do it now.
I usually top them above 3rd node, some like it,some really don't it's a case of trial and error.

Personally I would just LST. And not bother topping.
