If 10 weeks becomes 12 weeks, then the trained plant needs to yield 20% more to break even.

At a break even yield, it's down to the cost of running the groom an extra 2 weeks and the cost of an extra seed or 2 for the untrained 10 week grow.

I enjoy evaluating the costs angle and don't take it too seriously. If the lazy option saves a penny, it all helps. If the more effort option saves a quid, nah, I'd rather have the convenience.

He discusses this in that thread with some similar percentages Farmer G

The plant still goes through the motions, but instead of being done at 80 days, you are now done at 120-130 days. Flowering proper from 50-60 days.

So long as you are growing a healthy plant I think this constant tie down and high defoliation method is very effective for most growers wants.

Is it a method for everyone? I doubt it. Too much work! Too unconventional.
Some growers may feel this is all too much, and to just grow and have fun with your plants!..and although I agree to a certain extent, it is, however, interesting to the know the results of some of these 'tests' for many of us too, and perhaps even useful for some growers

Here is a thread for anyone interesting in some of his tests - Topped and trained vs Natural

I was wondering about delaying flower in auto's through topping and LST when I noticed that they seem to take longer after being topped and trained.
