I have no experience at all with DWC, so unfortunately can't help..but I've shifted this over to our DWC section of the forum, so those that do have the experience can help.

More information will be needed though, pics are very helpful too

Did you start them in Coco plugs or something? I've known guys that were able to start seedlings right away in clay pebbles, but it's not a very high percentage.

    For reference:
Not sure what medium your growing however I placed these Jack Herer and White Widow seeds in water on 12/27/2021. Transplanted them to Root Riot Plugs on 12/30/2021. These pics represent the day I transferred them to RDWC net pots with Hydroton pellets on 1/9/2022 (14 days total from drop in water). Roots did not start coming out the bottom of the 6 inch net pots until around 1/16-17/2022.

Hope that gives you an approximate timetable - Dave

I presume that by pots you mean net pots.

When plants still have very short roots or very young you want to raise the water level so the bubbles popping at surface are making enough moisture inside the net pot, which "lures" the root down. After they poke out the net pots, lower the water level.
I relocate them to net pots and big buckets super early, as soon as they develop set of leaves after cotyledons. In few days you'll have 5cm plant with 20cm root. If the temperature is at least 25°C and you have sufficient light, they go nuts.

top water them twice a day till the roots show at the bottom of the netpots, then leave them be.

I've found germination really frustrating over the years. The best results I've had were from soaking them in mineral water for 24 hours and then planting them in rockwool or little jiffy pellets. After roots start poking out of the medium I transfer them into my DWC system that uses clay balls. I start with weak nutrient solution (25%) to get things going and then gradually up it as the plants take off.
