    There are a few guides to making fetilisers & using odd items (as above), I just didn't want to be seen as spamming by putting loads up

    Banana skin organic PK boost that's free since I house a banana monster. Hmm. Okay.

    Soon to a Barnyard near you.

    Cheers M_C and thanks for sharing this one.

    I saw this Banana Peel Fertiliser video a few years back and I like the guy..unfortunately he's had some issues over the years which he has explained (health wise), so can't always upload regularly as he would like , but the information he provides in his videos are fantastic.

    My personal experience with the banana peel fert is mixed, but I'll share them with you all..

    I tried mine two ways, the first time I left the peels in the sun to dry (they turn very dark brown, almost black), I then placed them in a 'coffee bean grinder' to try to use them in a more 'powder form' to help break them down quicker in the soil, well this wasn't too good because it nearly broke my grinder lol

    So be prepared, dried banana peels are very hard and difficult to break up! (but you don't need to, you can place them 'as is' into the soil, it will just take a little longer to break down).

    The second time I tried doing this, it was winter time and there was no sun to dry them, so I placed them in the oven for 15 mins on a low temperature, then ground them up with a 'heavy duty' pestle and mortar, which basically did the same thing and worked very well...was more time consuming and a little elbow grease never hurt anyone! lol.

    I LOVE the smell of dried banana peel when using it with flowers, but then I do like the smell of banana so that helps lol

    I used them on several plants and my flowering roses and I must say they really did seem to love it

    Never tried them with cannabis plants so can't give any feedback on that.

    Positives ;

    • Works really well, plants seem to love it.

    • The smell is fantastic (if you love banana).

    • Can be made quickly and easily.

    Negatives ;

    • Very difficult to grind up, but you don't have to..however it will take a little longer to break down in the soil

    • Ants LOVE this too (I'm guessing they smell the sweet natural sugars), and when I used this, I had a massive infestation in two locations where I used it

    Overall though I would def use it again, just be mindful that it will attract ants!

    I may be doing this soon. Was at a shop yesterday looking for a potassium supplement that wouldnt add any nitrogen. Was looking at using would ash but read that it makes your soil way too alkaline. Guess i could add it to water and add ph down?
