Default Answered: Question about growing autos and photos together

I know only the basics about growing photoperiods as I grow autos but I wondered if I’m growing both together coz I have the light on 24/7 when I go to check them would I be ok to turn the power of the light down so I can check them without it lighting my window up or would that set the photoperiods going into flower or whatever
    Cheers

  2. "scorpion, no worries mate. For them to start flowering needs 10 hours or more of darkness.

I've vegged photos at 12/12 with a household led 24/0 to stop them flowering. Makes the flip easy, turn off the little led.

What seemed like a good idea at the time was me growing autos 12/12. They grew fine except that half fuel = half speed. I chopped early at 17 weeks.

If I was going to mix autos and photos, I'd give priority to the photos. Autos will grow at 12/12, albeit a slower finish. If the photos are chopped first, then the autos can get full lighting."

I don't think so. It seems like it would have an awful long time for that to happen. Just A few minutes shouldn't change any thing. JMO

I certainly wouldnt think so. I had a few power interruptions that lasted 6/8 hours and they didnt cause me to flower or hermie. It seems that 12 hours is that magic number. That being said, i wouldnt make a habit of it.

Besides, you can reveg from early flower anyways

It's not something I'd do personally ,it's either one or the other ,and come April when our energy bills rocket skywards I'd want to optimise every grow I did ,and I can 100 guarantee trying to mix both is far far from ideal

If you have the patience, photos can be cheaper per gram if you veg them 12/12 alongside a small 'don't be flowering' light.

    12 weeks autos at 24/0 = 2016 hours. 18 weeks photos at 12/12 = 1512 hours. (Can be less than 18 weeks.)

Photo all the way without taking the thread off topic into another direction ,and as grow using 1800w hps I'm fucked if I'm running 3 month cycles on 20/4 ,if Aprils elec prices don't change a lot of folks minds ,I'd be very shocked ...
