Question How Much Will It Cost? to run LED GROW LIGHTS?

We've all heard someone hype up LED grow lights and how they'll practically cost you nothing to run. Sounds almost too good to be true, right? Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you're running a decent-sized grow room, you're still going to have a decent-sized electricity or power bill each month.

In our latest blog, we’ll take a closer look at the factors which determine how much your grow lights are going to cost to run so that you have a decent estimate of your electricity costs.where are you live in? How much electricity cost per KW/H?

The way to look at it now with all the newer led lights is you can get a lower powered led that gives out the same or more light than a higher wattage hps so you have some savings there but the other side of the coin is keeping the heat in your room at the ideal temp so you may need extra heating in winter time.

    Swings in roundabouts....

I've replaced my 1000w hps with a hlg scorpion r-spec 600w and I've been told the intensity of this light is something to take note of and respect and it will also replace my 1000w hps with ease.

I see where you coming from Funky. I can run A 600W HPS in my 3x3 tent, or 260W from my LED. Much savings.

This chart seems to calculate at 100% and not many of us run 100% lights from day 1. So potentially, the numbers are still a bit inflated.

Tell you what, having the option of moving your drivers in or out of the tent is pretty handy depending on the season.

No matter the cost, it's much cheaper than buying street weed or dispo weed... unless you're Jingo and can buy an ounce for less than a steak dinner.

Cheers SpiderFarmerLED. Your community outreach team is a cut above.

I don't know if you have an app for this but a way to save money and allow the average grower to take real advantage of you LEDS, is to have an app where it automatically converts lux to par, talking about a spider-farmer led app, you enter the model number and you get correct reading, you could have 4 small LEDS, space them out, dim the LEDS and check the reading till the light spread is very even, this would really help growers get the best from there lights.

The App would be easy to build on android, I could build it for you if you have the data(basic android developer).

but not using my account to upload it to the play store.
